“The orange paint of the car glows softly under the sun, melting into the fiery blooms of the Flamboyant tree. Havana’s streets are alive with red-orange blossoms, and flames painting the branches.
The air hangs heavy with the sweet scent of the flowers. Somewhere, faint music drifts on a warm breeze that brushes my skin. For a split second, I feel nothing but the slow, steady heartbeat of Havana.”
